Reaction.

This week some friends and I got into a discussion about reacting to negative situations. A couple of us are the "sit and stew about it" types. And a couple are the "fly off the handle" types. The conversation then turned to what each of us do to handle these types of situations. I picked up some great ideas!

I learned a long time ago that when in a negative conversation, counting to 10 before I respond is a wise thing to do. A little smart in the mouth, sometimes my immediate reactions don't make a situation any better! Counting to 10 allows my brain to gather, process, and decide on the right thing to say/do.

Other things mentioned that I think are very helpful?

-Immediately put yourself in the other person's shoes. How would you feel?
-Have a cup of tea and think it over before responding {love this one!}
-Go for a walk to think thinks over
-Do not make any decisions until you have slept on it- even if its just a quick nap. You may feel differently when your mind is rested.
-Believe the best in people. Don't assume the worst.
-And the best one I heard?

Be well, and have a wonderful weekend friends!
