. Sweat .

You gotta start somewhere.

No time for the gym?
Can't get away from the kids/work enough to commit?

Try this simple work-out at home. The goal being to descrease the time it takes to complete it week by week.

Once a week.

Twice a week.

Every night after dinner.

Whatever you choose, you are still that much further ahead than you were before.

No equipment needed. Just you, your muscles, some motivation, and 30min or less to do your body a favor.

It will thank you later, I promise :)

Back to basics.

I have to hand it to Kristi. Not only does she bring in some very cool, on-trend pieces into Key Lime- great colors and exclusive cuts. But she also brings in the one thing I personally look for the most in athletic wear: simple, versatile, basic pieces. Quality always being the constant factor.

We all have those days where during a workout we want to shine, but we also have those days where we just want to sweat amongst the crowd unnoticed. I think that is what I love the most about Key Lime. Their selection of apparel is a great variety. Below are some of my favorite basic pieces lately. No fuss; just simply, great athletic wear. Another reason why I can shop with {or for!} anyone at Key Lime. My Mother, my sister, my Mother-in-Law, my best friend.

Summer Sweets

:: Strawberry Shortcake Muffins ::

There's nothing like sweet strawberries in the summer. Especially if they are garden fresh! This muffin recipe is oh so good- and a low calorie treat!

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cup Oats (old fashioned kind, not quick cooking)
1 cup Plain low fat greek yogurt

2 Eggs

1 1/2 cup Strawberries, diced, and patted dry + (optional 1/2 cup strawberries, diced to place on top of muffins)

3/4 cup Sweetener of choice, (that measures the same as sugar) or 1/4 cup baking stevia sweetener1

1 1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
-Optional- 1tsp lemon juice

*Note: The paper liners don’t work well when baking with a base that does not include flour (which is the case with this recipe), they always seem to stick to the paper. If you don’t have a silicone muffin tin or liners, I recommend buying the foil cupcake liners at the store, and removing the paper inserts so you are only using the foil part of the liner! That way no sticking will occur!

Directions:

1* Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line 12 muffin
tins with silicone or foil liners
(or just use a silicone muffin pan).

2* Place all of the ingredients (except the strawberries) in a blender or food processor, and blend until oats are smooth. Pour mixture into a medium sized bowl, and stir in strawberries. Divide remaining 1/2 cup diced strawberries over the top of each muffin.
(This step is optional, but it really makes the strawberries burst with color and flavor on top of each muffin!)

3* Divide batter among cupcake liners, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.

4* Serve & Enjoy!

My Key Lime

My running partner is a great gal. She is a great listener. She gets me out of bed early in the morning. She motivates me. She always leaves me smiling. She pushes me to go a little bit further than I would otherwise.

Nahla Girl.

Key Lime Titanium jacket. The best running jacket I've ever owned. Rain + wind proof. Comfortable. Light and airy, yet just warm enough. The perfect layering piece.

. thank yourself .

I stumbled across this last night and it got me thinking. What if we took the time daily, or even weekly to do something for ourselves that our future selves would thank us for? Whether it be to attend that spin class you've been debating, put down that pack of cigarettes, incorporate a few more fruits & veggies into our every day, etc. This mentality was what got me out the door this early morning to do a quick (rainy!) run before work. It's going to be that little "thought bubble" I go to when I need a little boost of inspiration from now on. What are your words of inspriation that get you going?
